Hastelloy W alloy
This alloy (UNS N10004) is a solid solution reinforced superalloy.
The Hastelloy W alloy was developed primarily as a filler metal for welding dissimilar alloys. It exhibits excellent welding properties and is therefore widely used in gas turbines and the aerospace industry. The properties of dissimilar welds made with the W alloy depend on the alloys joined, but are generally acceptable for a wide variety of combinations. Alloy W is also used as a forging alloy for a limited number of annular applications in older gas turbine engines.

Note that the Haynes 242 alloy is a more modern alloy. It should be considered a replacement for alloy W in some applications.
